Chaka Chaka
Chaka Chaka opened in 2002 with the auspicious claim of being the southernmost reggae bar in Japan. This claim is almost certainly true and the reggae-influenced roots of this bar, which has a huge mural of Bob Marley painted on its rear wall, are unmistakable.

First impressions portray a rather dimly-lit establishment, but this serves to compliment the ambience of this laid-back, friendly bar which is run by two guys – Hisashi and Taichi (a local surfer).
Once a month a 'Reggae / Dance' night is held at Chaka Chaka and if you're looking to experience some of Ishigaki's late-night scene you could do far worse than to check out this bar which has developed quite a following amongst locals.

Drinks
Alcoholic drinks include a reasonable selection of bottled international beers in addition to a wide range of cocktails, wine, awamori and of course, Orion beer.
Food
Chaka Chaka has a good selection of light meals and snacks with the most popular dish being their 'Jamaican jerk chicken'. Other dishes include, tacos, nachos and mini-pizzas.
Location
Chaka Chaka is located on the 3rd floor of a building and is very easy to miss unless you're specifically looking for it. When approaching from the direction of the ferry terminal through the town center take a left down the road before Misakichou's main street (Misakichou's main street is the one with large 'Ooritouri' signs at each end).
When walking through the center of town turn down this road (it has a Coco store on the corner).
You'll find the entrance to Chaka Chaka on the right. The bar is on the third floor.Related Pages:
